VDD IQware enters into collaboration with iRex Technologies

‘Printing’ from Hyarchis.Net on iRex e-reader reduces paper mountain

Waalre, 3 October 2008 – By combining their strengths, VDD IQware, the developer and supplier of the ECM system Hyarchis.Net, and iRex Technologies, the Dutch pioneer in the field of electronic paper, are both able to make a real contribution to the reduction in the paper mountain. The collaboration now allows digital documents that have been stored in the document management building block of Hyarchis.Net to be ‘printed’ in digital format on the iRex e-reader. Printing on paper is then no longer necessary, as the reader’s advanced electronic paper display reads exactly like traditional paper, and its handy format allows it to be taken anywhere.

VDD IQware has been developing innovative solutions to reduce paper flows and bringing them to the market for years, and is always looking for new solutions to make paper-free working even more attractive and easier. In practice, however, digitally stored documents still find their way to the printer in order to make them easier to read. With the iRex e-reader this is no longer necessary. In addition to reading documents on the e-reader, it is also possible to make handwritten notes on them, just like on real paper, and the amended documents can then be saved back into Hyarchis.Net.

“Working within the ecological (planet) preconditions of CSR, one of its three cornerstones, is high on our agenda. We see respect for the environment as playing an increasingly important role as a deciding factor in choosing to work digitally,” explains Irma Huis in ’t Veld, VDD IQware Marketing Manager. “The collaboration we have begun with iRex Technologies provides additional encouragement for Hyarchis.Net users to work digitally. It brings us another step closer to paper-free working.”

“With our solutions on the basis of electronic paper, we support our business partners such as VDD IQware in their pursuit of paper-free working,” adds Willem Endhoven, VP Marketing & Business Development at iRex Technologies. “With Hyarchis.Net, VDD IQware makes a perfect match in this respect. Our collaboration enables us to bring our products to the attention of organizations that already have an awareness of the issues and benefits. Indeed, they are already working digitally to a great degree. We also hope to deepen and broaden this collaboration in the future.”
